EarthDayMiami™ hosted  “Sustainability in Action,” an exciting networking experience honoring sustainability consciousness in South Florida.

In celebration of Earth Day 2013, EarthDayMiami™ hosted  “Sustainability in Action.” The 7th edition of EarthDayMiami™, with an exciting networking experience inspiring awareness and appreciation for our natural environment through music, art and design. The event was held at the db Moderne Bistro located in the JW Marriott Marquis Miami.

“Sustainability in Action” recognizes a select group of community leaders, faces of earth, who are raising the level of sustainability consciousness in South Florida. The 2013 Honorees included:

 

 

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts for becoming the first institution in the world to provide eco-Fashion uniforms made of recycled plastic bottle fabric. Whole Foods Market for their on going work leading the community to become self-conscious on choosing organic and natural products. Celebrity chef Lorena Garcia, a leader in the culinary arts, has collaborated with Taco Bell, creating a healthy menu selection inspiring a healthy America. car2go for their innovative Eco friendly and smart transportation system. Miami Bicycle Initiatives, DecoBike, and Broward City B-cycle, all for their efforts in creating a greener environment while promoting well-being and fitness to their communities.

The program also included an “EcoArtFashion” show by EarthDayMiami™ founder and international renowned eco-designer and visual artist Luis Valenzuela, presented by car2go, and a special performance by Tenor Rolando Polo.

Since 2007, EarthDayMiami™ (Artsy Productions USA trademark), under the banner of “one Day, one Community, one Mission” has been part of similar celebrations around the world, inspiring greater awareness and appreciation for our natural environment through music, art and design. Its founder, celebrity fashion designer and visual artist Green philosopher Luis Valenzuela and his team, have chosen this year’s edition to support like-minded projects, initiatives dedicated to transforming South Florida into a center of sustainability innovation.
